In 1839 legde C.F. Martin de eerste steen voor zijn nieuwe werkplaats in Cherry Hill, Pennsylvania, nadat hij zijn bedrijf vanuit Manhattan had verplaatst. Die historische locatie, nog geen halve mijl van de huidige Martin-fabriek, vormt de inspiratie voor deze bijzondere Custom-serie. Het is een mooie cirkel dat Martin nu dit zeldzame Amerikaanse kersenhout gebruikt, een houtsoort die door zijn beperkte formaat zelden geschikt is voor gitaarbouw. De combinatie van het kersenhout met een Sitka sparren bovenblad resulteert in een heldere en gebalanceerde klank waarin warme middentonen centraal staan.
Dit maakt de gitaar bijzonder geschikt voor fingerpicking, waarbij akkoorden helder en transparant ten gehore gebracht worden. De verfijnde respons zorgt ervoor dat zelfs subtiele speeltechnieken goed tot hun recht komen. Deze Martin uit de Custom Shop is gebouwd in 2024, en verkeert in excellente conditie. De gitaar heeft op de treblezijde van de klankkast een langwerpige ding, met daarbij ook sporen van een snarenwinder op de baszijde van de headstock. Verder zijn de brugpinnen vervangen door Martin Liquid Metal brugpinnen, maar de originele exemplaren worden meegeleverd in de koffer. Een bijzondere gitaar met een bijzondere klank!

This Martin from the Custom Shop was built in 2024 and is in excellent condition. The guitar has an elongated ding on the treble side of the body, with traces of a string winder on the bass side of the headstock. Furthermore, the bridge pins have been replaced with Martin Liquid Metal bridge pins, but the originals are included in the case. A special guitar with a special sound!

Diese Martin aus dem Custom Shop wurde 2024 gebaut und befindet sich in ausgezeichnetem Zustand. Die Gitarre weist eine längliche Delle auf der Diskantseite des Korpus sowie Spuren einer Saitenkurbel auf der Bassseite der Kopfplatte auf. Außerdem wurden die Stegstifte durch Martin Liquid Metal-Stegstifte ersetzt, die Originale sind jedoch im Koffer enthalten. Eine besondere Gitarre mit einem besonderen Klang!
