Originally introduced in 1942 during Gibson’s legendary Banner era, the LG 2 quickly established itself as one of Gibson’s most beloved small body acoustics. Positioned as the successor to the L 00 and released alongside icons such as the J 45 and Southern Jumbo, the LG 2 offered players a big, balanced voice in a more compact and comfortable format.

De LG 2 50s Original brengt een eerbetoon aan de zeer gewilde modellen uit de jaren 50 en combineert vintage geïnspireerde looks met moderne Gibson vakmanschap. De gitaar is gebouwd met een massieve Sitka spruce top met traditionele scalloped X bracing, gecombineerd met massieve mahogany back en sides voor een warme, gefocuste en resonante klank. Dankzij het kleinere body formaat is deze LG 2 bijzonder comfortabel, zonder in te leveren op projectie of karakter.
De mahogany neck heeft een comfortabele Rounded profile en is met een compound dovetail joint en hot hide glue aan de body bevestigd. De unbound rosewood fingerboard is voorzien van 20 frets en subtiele mother of pearl dot inlays. Klassieke details zoals de sloped rectangular rosewood bridge met mother of pearl dots, de tortoise teardrop pickguard en de three ply top binding met single ply back binding maken het vintage geheel compleet.
De hardware bestaat uit een bone nut en saddle, TUSQ bridge pins en Grover strap tuners met cream buttons. Voor moderne toepassingen is de LG 2 50s Original uitgerust met een intern L R Baggs VTC pickup systeem met discreet in het klankgat geplaatste volume en tone controls. Hierdoor is de gitaar direct klaar voor podium en studio en wordt hij geleverd in een Gibson hardshell case.

Zu den klassischen optischen Details gehören die abgeschrägte rechteckige Palisanderbrücke mit Perlmuttpunkten, ein Schildpatt-Tropfenpickguard und eine dreilagige Deckenbindung mit einlagiger Rückenbindung.
Zur Hardware gehören ein Sattel und eine Stegeinlage aus Knochen, TUSQ-Stegstifte und Grover-Riemenknöpfe mit cremefarbenen Knöpfen. Für moderne Performance-Anforderungen ist die LG 2 50s Original mit einem internen L R Baggs VTC-Tonabnehmersystem mit diskreten, am Schallloch montierten Lautstärke- und Klangreglern ausgestattet, sodass sie direkt aus dem Koffer für den Einsatz auf der Bühne und im Studio bereit ist. Die Gitarre wird in einem Gibson-Hartschalenkoffer geliefert.
