Qua configuratie is de keus van Paul gevallen op de bekende combinatie van mahonie voor de body met een gevlamde esdoorn top, Honduraans palissander toets, Nitro finish, "Brushstroke" bird positiemarkeringen en smalle elementspoelen.
Het Paul's Guitar model maakt gebruik van twee TCI humbuckers (Tuned Capacitance and Inductance) in combinatie met twee mini schakelaars waarmee je elk van de elementen kan schakelen van humbucker- naar echte single coil modus.
