De Imperial Humbucker vangt de luchtige bovenkant, gebalanceerde middentonen, strakke lage tonen en complexe boventonen van de klassieke originele P.A.F. pickups. Lollar heeft vervolgens het ontwerp verbeterd om je een meer gebalanceerde frequentierespons te geven.
Zijn medium output is in het vintage bereik met een meer gewikkelde brugpickup in vergelijking met een typische vintage set. De ongebalanceerde spoelen van Lollar produceren een strak laag die de volheid van de pick-up aanvult en ervoor zorgt dat boventonen worden opgebouwd nadat elke noot is gespeeld. Over het algemeen heeft het een vollere brugtoon en een schonere en helderdere middenpositie. Lollar's unbalanced coils produce a tight bottom end that complements the pickup's fullness and causes overtones to build after each note is played. Overall, it has a fuller bridge tone and a cleaner and brighter middle position. The neck is hot enough to play on the edge of amp distortion, or you can adjust your picking pressure to achieve a cleaner or dirtier sound as desired.
