Gibson Les Paul Standard Bass Oversized Goldtop 2011

De Les Paul Standard Bass is een van Gibsons meer experimentele uitstapjes, waarin het merk de klassieke Les Paul-formule vertaalde naar een basgitaar. Waar de originele Les Paul sinds 1952 gitaristen wereldwijd heeft geïnspireerd, bracht Gibson in 2011 deze bijzondere bas-variant uit om ook de low-end spelers te laten genieten van het iconische design. Met zijn oversized body behoudt het instrument de vertrouwde single-cut vorm en goldtop finish die de Les Paul zo herkenbaar maken, maar dan aangepast voor de langere mensuur en zwaardere snaren van een basgitaar.

Het mahonie/esdoorn recept dat de Les Paul zo beroemd maakte, werkt ook uitstekend voor bas. De mahonie body zorgt voor warmte en sustain, terwijl de esdoorn top helderheid en punch toevoegt - precies wat je wilt in een basgitaar. De TB Plus keramische humbuckers zijn speciaal ontworpen om het brede frequentiebereik van een bas te verwerken, van diepe fundamenten tot heldere harmonischen. Met zijn C-profiel hals en 34" mensuur speelt deze Les Paul Bass vertrouwd maar toch uniek, terwijl de cream binding en trapezoid inlays de premium afwerking onderstrepen die je van Gibson mag verwachten.

Deze Gibson Les Paul Bass uit 2011 heeft slechts minimale speelsporen, met daarbij een verkleuring in de lak op de achterzijde van de body als gevolg van het gebruik van een standaard. De bas is verder zeer schoon en wordt met TFOA paspoort geleverd in een koffer.

The Les Paul Standard Bass is one of Gibson’s more experimental forays, in which the brand translated the classic Les Paul formula to a bass guitar. While the original Les Paul has inspired guitarists worldwide since 1952, Gibson released this special bass variant in 2011 to allow low-end players to enjoy the iconic design. With its oversized body, the instrument retains the familiar single-cut shape and goldtop finish that make the Les Paul so recognizable, but has been adapted for the longer scale and heavier strings of a bass guitar.


The mahogany/maple recipe that made the Les Paul so famous also works well for bass. The mahogany body provides warmth and sustain, while the maple top adds brightness and punch - exactly what you want in a bass guitar. The TB Plus ceramic humbuckers are specially designed to handle the wide frequency range of a bass, from deep fundamentals to bright harmonics. With its C-profile neck and 34" scale length, this Les Paul Bass plays familiarly yet uniquely, while the cream binding and trapezoid inlays underline the premium finish you expect from Gibson.
