De OM Grand van Santa Cruz is in essentie een grotere en vooral luidere uitvoering van het befaamde OM-model. Het idee voor de OM Grand kwam van winkel-eigenaar Harry Tuft, die Richard Hoover verzocht om een custom instrument te bouwen voor het 50-jarig bestaan van zijn zaak. Hij baseerde de gitaar op het historische 0000-model, en voegde de OM Grand toe aan de standaardmodellen van Santa Cruz.
Het bovenblad van deze OM Grand is gemaakt van Italiaans sparren, een houtsoort die zich door zijn mooie nerfpatroon en sterke tonale capaciteiten onderscheidt. Dit hout vormt een adembenemende combinatie met de Cocobolo klankkast, die door zijn prachtige tekening de absolute blikvanger van deze gitaar is. De klank van deze gitaar laat zich niet louter kenmerken door een hoger volume; de nuance van bijvoorbeeld fingerstyle zal behouden blijven, waarbij verfijnde solo's door de volle klank van de gitaar met minder inspanning gespeeld kunnen worden.
Deze Santa Cruz OM Grand is gebouwd in april 2015, en verkeert nog nagenoeg in nieuwstaat. Op de achterzijde van de klankkast zijn minimale speelsporen te vinden, en op het bovenblad is een zeer lichte afdruk van de verwijderde slagplaat te zien. De lak van het bovenblad is echter uniform, glanzend zonder residu. De gitaar wordt met TFOA paspoort geleverd in de originele Ameritage-koffer.

The OM Grand from Santa Cruz is essentially a larger and louder version of the famous OM model. The idea for the OM Grand came from shop owner Harry Tuft, who asked Richard Hoover to build a custom instrument for his business's 50th anniversary. He based the guitar on the historic 0000 model, adding the OM Grand to the standard Santa Cruz models.
The top of this OM Grand is made of Italian spruce, a type of wood that stands out for its beautiful grain pattern and strong tonal capabilities. The sound of this guitar is not simply characterized by a higher volume; the nuance of fingerstyle, for example, will be preserved, where refined solos can be played with less effort due to the full sound of the guitar.
This Santa Cruz OM Grand was built in April 2015 and is still in
near mint condition. There are minimal playing marks on the back of the body, and a very light imprint of the removed pickguard can be seen on the top. However, the lacquer of the top is uniform, glossy without residue. The guitar comes with TFOA passport in the original Ameritage hardshell case.

Der OM Grand von Santa Cruz ist im Wesentlichen eine größere und lautere Version des berühmten OM-Modells. Die Idee zum OM Grand kam vom Ladenbesitzer Harry Tuft, der Richard Hoover bat, zum 50-jährigen Jubiläum seines Unternehmens ein maßgeschneidertes Instrument zu bauen. Er basierte die Gitarre auf dem historischen Modell 0000 und fügte den Standard-Santa-Cruz-Modellen den OM Grand hinzu.
Die Decke dieses OM Grand besteht aus italienischer Fichte, einer Holzart, die sich durch ihre schöne Maserung und starke Klangfähigkeit auszeichnet. Dieses Holz bildet eine atemberaubende Kombination mit dem Cocobolo-Korpus, der durch seine schöne Maserung der absolute Hingucker dieser Gitarre ist. Der Klang dieser Gitarre zeichnet sich nicht nur durch eine höhere Lautstärke aus; So bleiben beispielsweise die Nuancen des Fingerstyles erhalten, bei denen durch den vollen Klang der Gitarre raffinierte Soli mit weniger Aufwand gespielt werden können.
Dieser Santa Cruz OM Grand wurde im April 2015 gebaut und ist immer noch in nahezu neuwertigem Zustand. Auf der Rückseite des Korpus sind minimale Spielspuren vorhanden, auf der Oberseite ist ein ganz leichter Abdruck des entfernten Schlagbretts zu erkennen. Der Lack der Oberseite ist jedoch gleichmäßig, glänzend und rückstandsfrei. Die Gitarre wird mit TFOA-Pass im originalen Ameritage-Hartschalenkoffer geliefert.
