McNally guitars are the result of 13 years of development with the aim of combining the Irish and American styles of guitar making in which Ciaran McNally was trained. With his extensive experience gained at Lowden and Atkin, among others, Ciaran is now without a doubt one of the best guitar makers in Europe!
McNally OM Bog Oak Sitka Spruce
De OM is een van de meest veelzijdige modellen die bijna alle speelstijlen en genres aankan. Dit Orchestra Model gebruikt massief Bog eiken voor de achterkant en zijkanten in combinatie met een massief Sitka sparren bovenblad. Het Bog eiken is zeer donker gekleurd doordat het honderden of soms zelfs duizenden jaren in de grond begraven heeft gelegen, voornamelijk in veenmoerassen, meren en rivierbodems. Het hout is nadat het gedroogd is zeer dicht en hard, en werkt zoals we bij deze McNally horen zeer goed als klankhout!
De pracht van het Bog eiken wordt versterkt door het contrast met het bovenblad dat is afgewerkt met verfijnde details zoals de rozet van spalted padauk met abalone, en daarbij een ebano binding met een purfling van padauk en abalone. De mahonie hals met ebben toets blijft niet achter door de fraaie en kenmerkende parelmoer Triquetra inleg op de 12e fret. De Keltische knoop heeft een symbolische betekenis en staat voor leven, dood, en wedergeboorte in de Keltische cultuur.
McNally heeft met deze OM een gitaar weer een gitaar vol karakter en eigenzinnigheid weten te bouwen, en de gitaar is zoals we van Ciaran gewend zijn ook weer volgens de hoogste standaard gebouwd. Prachtige bijkomstigheid is dat McNally in samenwerking met Tree Nation ten minste vier bomen laat planten voor elke gebouwde gitaar, en zo de wereld per gitaar op meerdere manieren een stukje beter maakt!
De gitaar wordt met TFOA paspoort geleverd in een koffer van Hiscox.

The OM is one of the most versatile models that can handle almost all playing styles and genres. This Orchestra Model uses solid Bog oak for the back and sides in combination with a solid Sitka spruce top. The Bog oak is very dark colored because it has been buried in the ground for hundreds or sometimes even thousands of years, mainly in peat bogs, lakes and river bottoms. The wood is very dense and hard after it has dried, and as we hear with this McNally, works very well as a tonewood!
The beauty of the Bog oak is enhanced by the contrast with the top, which is finished with refined details such as the rosette of spalted padauk with abalone, and an ebano binding with a purfling of padauk and abalone. The mahogany neck with ebony fingerboard is not left behind by the beautiful and characteristic mother of pearl Triquetra inlay on the 12th fret. The Celtic knot has a symbolic meaning and represents life, death, and rebirth in Celtic culture.
With this OM guitar, McNally has once again managed to build a guitar full of character and individuality, and the guitar is, as we have come to expect from Ciaran, also built to the highest standard. A wonderful bonus is that McNally, in collaboration with Tree Nation, has at least four trees planted for every guitar built, thus making the world a better place in more than one way with every guitar!
The guitar is supplied with a TFOA passport in a Hiscox hardshell case.

Der OM ist eines der vielseitigsten Modelle, das nahezu alle Spielstile und Genres beherrscht. Dieses Orchestra-Modell verwendet für Boden und Zargen massive Mooreiche in Kombination mit einer massiven Sitka-Fichtendecke. Die Mooreiche hat eine sehr dunkle Farbe, da sie seit Hunderten oder manchmal sogar Tausenden von Jahren im Boden vergraben ist, hauptsächlich in Torfmooren, Seen und Flussböden. Das Holz ist nach dem Trocknen sehr dicht und hart und eignet sich, wie wir bei diesem McNally hören, sehr gut als Tonholz!
Die Schönheit der Mooreiche wird durch den Kontrast zur Decke verstärkt, die mit raffinierten Details wie der Rosette aus gespaltenem Padauk mit Abalone und einem Ebenholzeinband mit einer Einlage aus Padauk und Abalone versehen ist. Der Mahagonihals mit Ebenholzgriffbrett wird durch die schöne und charakteristische Perlmutt-Triquetra-Einlage am 12. Bund nicht beeinträchtigt. Der keltische Knoten hat eine symbolische Bedeutung und steht in der keltischen Kultur für Leben, Tod und Wiedergeburt.
Mit dieser OM-Gitarre ist es McNally erneut gelungen, eine Gitarre voller Charakter und Individualität zu bauen, und auch die Gitarre ist, wie wir es von Ciaran gewohnt sind, auf höchstem Niveau gebaut. Ein wunderbarer Bonus ist, dass McNally in Zusammenarbeit mit Tree Nation für jede gebaute Gitarre mindestens vier Bäume pflanzen lässt und so die Welt mit jeder Gitarre in mehr als einer Hinsicht zu einem besseren Ort macht!
Die Gitarre wird mit einem TFOA-Pass in einem Hiscox-Hartschalenkoffer geliefert.
