Collings D2HA Indian Rosewood Adirondack Spruce 2013

Hoewel de basrespons de dreadnought perfect maakt voor vocale begeleiding, zal een Collings dreadnought gegarandeerd ook de meest gedistingeerde bluegrass flatpicker tevreden stellen. De configuratie die gekozen is voor deze specifieke Collings D2HA omvat een handgestemd Adirondack Spruce bovenblad, gecompenseerd door prachtige herringbone purfling en ivoroid bindingen. De klassieke setup geeft het instrument veel volume, maar ook een bepaalde compressie, wat zo goed klinkt samen met de gebalanceerde klank en boventonen van een klankkast gemaakt van Indisch palissander.

Deze Collings is gebouwd in 2013, en vertoont her en der speelsporen die erop duiden dat de gitaar op respectvolle wijze bespeeld is. Zo vinden we enkele dings op het bovenblad, de klankkast en de achterzijde van de hals. Ook is te zien dat deze Collings een live-performer is geweest, want de subtiele verkleuring aan weerszijden van het klankgat duidt erop dat de gitaar ooit een soundhole pickup had. Ook vinden we hierom enkele stukken klittenband aan de binnenzijde van de klankkast, gebruikt om de kabel netjes te begeleiden.

Verder is er op de hiel een strap button gemonteerd, en vinden we op de zijkant van de klankkast aan de baszijde een kleine gerepareerde crack van zo'n drie centimeter. De gitaar is verder bijzonder schoon, en wordt met TFOA paspoort geleverd in een koffer.

While the bass response makes the dreadnought perfect for vocal accompaniment, a Collings dreadnought is guaranteed to please even the most sophisticated bluegrass flatpicker. The configuration chosen for this particular Collings D2HA includes a hand-tuned Adirondack Spruce top, offset by beautiful herringbone purfling and ivoroid bindings. The classic setup gives the instrument plenty of volume, but also a certain compression, which sounds so good together with the balanced tone and overtones of an Indian rosewood back and sides.

This Collings was built in 2013, and shows some play marks here and there that indicate that the guitar has been played respectfully. For example, we find a few dings on the top, the back and sides and the back of the neck. It is also clear that this Collings was a live performer, because the subtle discoloration on either side of the sound hole indicates that the guitar once had a soundhole pickup. We also find a few pieces of Velcro on the inside of the sound box, used to neatly guide the cable.

Furthermore, a strap button is mounted on the heel, and we find a small repaired crack of about three centimeters on the side of the side of the body on the bass side. The guitar is otherwise very clean, and comes with a TFOA passport in a hardshell case.

Der klassische Aufbau verleiht dem Instrument viel Volumen, aber auch eine gewisse Kompression, die zusammen mit dem ausgewogenen Klang und den Obertönen des Bodens und der Zargen aus indischem Palisander so gut klingt.

Diese Collings wurde 2013 gebaut und weist vereinzelt Spielspuren auf, die auf respektvolles Spielen schließen lassen. So finden sich beispielsweise einige Dellen an der Decke, dem Boden, den Zargen und der Rückseite des Halses. Auch die leichte Verfärbung auf beiden Seiten des Schalllochs deutet darauf hin, dass die Gitarre einst einen Schallloch-Tonabnehmer besaß. Im Inneren des Resonanzkörpers finden sich außerdem einige Klettverschlüsse, die zur sauberen Führung des Kabels dienten.

Außerdem ist am Fußende ein Gurtknopf angebracht, und seitlich am Korpus (Bassseite) befindet sich ein kleiner, reparierter Riss von etwa drei Zentimetern. Die Gitarre ist ansonsten sehr sauber und wird mit einem TFOA-Pass in einem Hartschalenkoffer geliefert.
