De Custom 24 is het vlaggenschip van PRS, het iconische instrument waarmee het allemaal begon in 1985. De Custom 24-08 heeft dezelfde fundamentele specificaties als de originele Custom, zoals een esdoorn bovenblad, een mahonie body en hals, 24 frets, 25" mensuur en de door PRS gepatenteerde Gen III tremolo, maar voegt een nieuw niveau van veelzijdigheid toe met zijn TCI pickups en intuïtieve schakelsysteem.
Met mini-toggle coil split-schakelaars, heeft de Custom 24-08 acht verschillende pickup-instellingen die een scala aan humbucking- en singlecoil-tonen bieden, inclusief een dubbele singlecoil-optie die uniek is voor dit model.
PRS Guitars heeft ook de stemmechanieken op veel van de Core gitaren vernieuwd. Hoewel de nieuwe Wing knoppen esthetisch ontworpen zijn als een echo van het 12e fret vogeldesign, zijn ze in de allereerste plaats ontworpen om tonale redenen, helemaal terug in 1982. The Custom 24 is PRS’s flagship model, the iconic instrument where it all began in 1985. The Custom 24-08 shares the same fundamental specifications as the original Custom, such as a maple top, mahogany body and neck, 24 frets, 25" scale length, and the PRS patented Gen III tremolo, but adds a new level of versatility with its TCI pickups and intuitive switching system.
With mini-toggle coil-split switches, the Custom 24-08 offers eight different pickup settings that provide a range of humbucking and single-coil tones, including a dual single-coil option unique to this model.
PRS Guitars has also updated the tuning machines on many of the Core guitars. Although the new Wing knobs are aesthetically designed to echo the 12th fret bird inlay, they were primarily designed for tonal reasons, dating back to 1982. Because these knobs are lighter than their metal predecessors, they absorb less energy from the vibrating strings, resulting in a longer and more musical sustain.
This 2023 Custom 24-08 still looks extremely clean and is in excellent condition. It has only minimal signs of playwear, mainly on the body. It comes with a case and a TFOA passport.
