Geïnspireerd door de cruciale jaren van de gouden eeuw van Gretsch in de jaren vijftig en begin jaren zestig, zijn Vintage Select Edition-gitaren ontworpen voor de speler die het beste in het erfgoed van muziekinstrumenten waardeert.
De Duo Jet debuteerde in 1953 als Gretsch' vlaggenschip "solid body" gitaar, hoewel de kenmerkende kracht en punch afkomstig waren van het 'chambered' mahoniehouten ontwerp, dat de harmonische rijkdom vergroot door lucht te laten resoneren tussen het bovenblad en de body voor een levendiger en meer gearticuleerde klank.
Gebaseerd op de modellen van eind jaren '80 heeft deze Sparkle Jet een opvallende Gold Sparkle-finish, met daarbij een witte binding. De TV Jones TV Classic pickups geven de gitaar een onderscheidende sound, terwijl de Bigsby de gitaar extra functionaliteit én elan geeft.
