De Les Paul Custom is naast de Goldtop de meest chique uitvoering van de Les Paul en draagt geheel terecht de bijnaam: Black Beauty. Deze Les Paul Custom uit 1972 is ook een ontzettend mooie verschijning in zeer goede staat.
Een andere bijnaam voor dit model is de 'Fretless Wonder' en deze gitaar heeft nog zijn originele frets! De hals valt verder ook op door zijn eendelige constructie, terwijl de meeste gitaren uit deze tijd een 3-delige hals hebben. Maar ook de pickup covers maken van deze gitaar een zeldzame verschijning. Deze 'embossed' pickup covers kom je zelden tegen want Gibson gebruikte ze maar van ongeveer 1971 tot 1973.
Typische '70s kenmerken zijn de driedelige 'pancake' body met esdoorn top en de voluut. Daarnaast dateren de potmeters uit 1971. Zoals een echte vintage gitaar betaamt, is hij mooi verouderd en laten de gebruikssporen zien dat hij goed gebruikt, maar zeker niet misbruikt, is!

Another nickname for this model is the 'Fretless Wonder' and this guitar still has those original frets! The neck also further stands out for its one-piece construction, while most guitars from this era have a 3-piece neck. And the pickup covers also make this guitar a rare find. You rarely come across these 'embossed' pickup covers because Gibson only used them from about 1971 to 1973.
Typical '70s features are the three-piece 'pancake' body with maple top and the volute. In addition, the potentiometers date from 1971. As befits a true vintage guitar, it has aged nicely and the signs of use show that it has been well used, but certainly not abused!

Neben der Goldtop ist die Les Paul Custom die schickste Version der Les Paul und trägt zu Recht den Spitznamen: Black Beauty. Auch diese 1972er Les Paul Custom ist eine unglaublich schöne Erscheinung und in einem sehr guten Zustand.
Ein anderer Spitzname für dieses Modell ist 'Fretless Wonder' und diese Gitarre hat noch die originalen Bünde! Der Hals zeichnet sich außerdem durch seine einteilige Konstruktion aus, während die meisten Gitarren aus dieser Zeit einen dreiteiligen Hals haben. Und auch die Pickup-Abdeckungen machen diese Gitarre zu einem seltenen Fund. Diese "geprägten" Pickup-Abdeckungen sind selten zu finden, da Gibson sie nur von etwa 1971 bis 1973 verwendete.
Typische Merkmale der 70er Jahre sind der dreiteilige "Pancake"-Korpus mit Ahorndecke und die Volute. Auch die Potentiometer stammen aus dem Jahr 1971. Wie es sich für eine echte Vintage-Gitarre gehört, ist sie schön gealtert, und die Gebrauchsspuren zeigen, dass sie gut genutzt, aber sicher nicht missbraucht wurde!
