Gibson Flatiron mandolines hebben een bijzondere cultstatus verworven onder kenners. De Master Model Festival combineert traditionele F-style esthetiek met moderne speelbaarheid. De massief esdoorn klankkast zorgt voor de kenmerkende heldere projectie en sustain, terwijl het sparren bovenblad de subtiele nuances en overtonen toevoegt die deze mandoline zo expressief maken. Hij heeft zeker de zo geliefde chop die deze mandolines zo geliefd maken. Het V-vormige gevlamde esdoorn halsprofiel ligt daarbij ook nog eens comfortabel in de hand.
De mandoline is gebouwd in 1999, en verkeert in zeer goede conditie. Op het bovenblad en de klankkast zijn speelsporen en meerdere dings te vinden, net als op de hals. Op de hals vallen verder nog twee zaken op; op het uiteinde van de hals begint de lak chips te vertonen, en op de headstock is een afgebroken scroll opnieuw gelijmd. Verder is de mandoline in prima ingespeelde staat, zowel qua uiterlijk als qua klank!

Gibson Flatiron mandolins have acquired a remarkable cult following among connoisseurs. Flatiron began as an independent mandolin maker in Montana, where they made a name for themselves with their exceptional quality. In 1987, Gibson was so impressed with their craftsmanship that they acquired the company. Around 1998, production moved to Nashville, and in the 2000s, the Flatiron logo was discontinued, as the instruments were now identical to the esteemed Gibson models.
The Master Model Festival combines traditional F-style aesthetics with modern playability. The solid maple back and sides provide the characteristic bright projection and sustain, while the spruce top adds the subtle nuances and overtones that make this mandolin so expressive. It certainly has the much-loved chop that makes these mandolins so popular. The V-shaped flamed maple neck profile also fits comfortably in the hand.
The mandolin was built in 1999 and is in very good condition. Playwear and several dings can be found on the top and back and sides, as well as on the neck. Two other things are noticeable on the neck: the lacquer is starting to chip at the neck end, and a broken scroll on the headstock has been reglued. Otherwise, the mandolin is in excellent, well-played condition, both in appearance and sound!

Die Mandoline wurde 1999 gebaut und befindet sich in sehr gutem Zustand. An Decke, Boden und Zargen sowie am Hals finden sich Spielspuren und einige Dellen. Zwei weitere Besonderheiten am Hals fallen auf: Der Lack beginnt am Halsende abzuplatzen, und eine gebrochene Schnecke an der Kopfplatte wurde neu verleimt. Ansonsten ist die Mandoline sowohl optisch als auch klanglich in ausgezeichnetem, gut gespieltem Zustand!
Die Mandoline wird in einem Hartschalenkoffer mit TFOA-Pass geliefert.
