Een jaar voordat Gene Baker B3 Guitars oprichtte, bouwde hij zijn custom gitaren onder zijn eigen naam. Gene had een lange geschiedenis in zowel de Gibson als Fender custom shops voordat hij voor zichzelf begon en instrumenten bouwde die in de voorhoede stonden van de boutique elektrische gitaarbeweging.
Deze BJ Select uit 2002 heeft een spectaculaire Honey Burst afwerking van gevlamd esdoorn op een mahonie body. Het dubbele cutaway ontwerp geeft gemakkelijk toegang tot alle 22 frets, terwijl de 12" palissander toets en C-vormige mahonie hals een vertrouwd, comfortabel gevoel geven. Een vorige eigenaar heeft de originele knoppen en potmeters vervangen, die nog steeds in de koffer zitten. This BJ Select from 2002 boasts spectacular Honey Burst-finished flame maple on top of a mahogany body. The double cutaway design grants easy access to all 22 frets while the 12" rosewood fretboard and C-shaped mahogany neck offer a familiar, comfortable feel. In terms of tuning stability, the Sperzel locking tuners and 'The Point Classic' tremolo bridge make sure that it's always ready for action.
A previous owner has replaced the original knobs and potmeters, which are still included in the case. The two humbuckers can now be controlled with a volume and two tones of which one has a push/pull function to split both humbuckers. And while it has its fair share of playwear and dings, these are signs that it has been used well so this BJ Select is still in very good condition.

Was die Stimmstabilität betrifft, so sorgen die Sperzel Locking Tuner und die The Point Classic"-Tremolo-Brücke dafür, dass sie immer einsatzbereit ist.
Ein Vorbesitzer hat die originalen Knöpfe und Potentiometer ersetzt, die noch im Koffer enthalten sind. Die beiden Humbucker lassen sich nun mit einer Lautstärke und zwei Tönen regeln, von denen einer eine Push/Pull-Funktion hat, um beide Humbucker zu splitten. Und obwohl sie ihren fairen Anteil an Spielspuren und Dellen hat, sind dies Anzeichen dafür, dass sie gut genutzt wurde, so dass diese BJ Select immer noch in sehr gutem Zustand ist.
