Martin D15M Mahogany

Martin's 'Style 15' guitars never really got the attention they deserved. Yes, they pretty much are the definition of the term subdued or even sober, but they always seem to surprise us. Just as this D15M does.

The dreadnought-shaped all mahogany body just has something that a D28 or even D18 hasn't. A warmth in the lows and presence in the mids that gives a different but wonderful tone. You have to play her in for a while, but the sound will be so rewarding when you put those hours in.

One plain and simple advantage of the modest appereance is the cost difference between this Martin and her big brothers, because all those fancy bindings, trims and inlays make a guitar more expensive. And how about this, in its essence this Martin is structurally almost the same guitar as a D-18 or -28.

The mahogany neck is constructed via a dovetail neck joint and features a comfortable modified low oval shape and a rosewood fretboard with Diamond & Squares inlay. The headstock features a rosewood headstock overlay and the open gear Grover tuners that together with the drop-in saddle ensure tuning stability.

So if you're looking for a first Martin you'd be a fool to forget this one, because it has a whole lot going for it. It even comes with a hardshell case!
