The D42 is, together with the D45, one of the most eyecatching dreadnoughts from the "standard" Martin line-up. "Standard" however is not a term we would associate with this model.

De D42 is, samen met de D45, een van de meest opvallende dreadnoughts uit de "standaard" Martin-line-up. "Standaard" is echter geen term die we zouden associëren met dit model.
De zorgvuldig geselecteerde achterkant en zijkanten van Indiaas palissander en het Sitka-sparren bovenblad met forward shifted scalloped bracing vormen het belangrijkste onderdeel van het instrument en zijn verantwoordelijk voor het kenmerkende Martin dreadnought geluid.
Wat deze D42 onderscheidt van de andere dreadnoughts in de standaard line-up zijn de ivoroid bindingen en stijl 42 Abalone inleg die niet alleen te vinden zijn op de body, maar ook de hals, toets, headstock en zelfs de brug! De gouden open-geared tuners in combinatie met het abalone block-logo op de kopplaat geven het instrument een zekere autoriteit die past bij het krachtige tonale karakter.
En nu we het toch over geluid hebben; deze gitaar heeft het geluid dat je zou verwachten van een top-kwaliteit dreadnought; extreem krachtig, blijft helder en briljant zelfs op de hogere posities. Dit is niet simpelweg een D28 met meer inleg, maar een gitaar van een heel ander niveau.

The carefully selected Indian Rosewood back and sides and Sitka spruce top with forward shifted scalloped bracing make up the most important part of the instrument and are responsible for the signature Martin dreadnought sound.
What set's this D42 apart from the other dreadnoughts in the standard line-up are the ivoroid bindings and style 42 Abalone inlays which surround and adorn not only the body, but also the neck, fingerboard, headstock and even the bridge! The gold open-geared tuners in combination with the abalone block-logo headstock inlay give the instrument a certain authority matching the powerful tonal character.
And while we're talking sound; this guitar has the sound you'd expect from a top-of-the-line dreadnought; extremely powerful, remains clear and brilliant all the way up the fretboard. This is not simply a D-28 with more inlays, it's in an entirely different league altogether.

Die D42 ist zusammen mit der D45 eine der auffälligsten Dreadnoughts aus der "Standard" Martin-Aufstellung. "Standard" ist jedoch kein Begriff, den wir mit diesem Modell in Verbindung bringen würden.
Der sorgfältig ausgewählte indische Palisander für Rücken und Seiten sowie die Fichtendecke mit vorgerückter scalloped Verstrebung bilden den wichtigsten Teil des Instruments und sind für den charakteristischen Martin-Dreadnought-Klang verantwortlich.
Was die D42 von den anderen Dreadnoughts in der Standard-Aufstellung unterscheidet, sind die Elfenbeinbindungen und die Style 42 Abalone-Einlagen, die nicht nur den Korpus, sondern auch den Hals, das Griffbrett, die Kopfplatte und sogar die Brücke umgeben und verzieren! Die goldfarbenen, offenen Stimmmechaniken in Kombination mit der Abalone-Block-Logo-Kopfplatteneinlage verleihen dem Instrument eine gewisse Autorität, die zum kraftvollen Klangcharakter passt.
Und während wir über den Klang sprechen; Diese Gitarre hat den Klang, den man von einer Spitzen-Dreadnought erwartet; äußerst kraftvoll, bleibt klar und brilliant bis zum Ende des Griffbretts. Es handelt sich hierbei nicht einfach um eine D-28 mit mehr Einlagen, sondern sie befindet sich in einer vollkommen anderen Liga.
Enthält ein Hartschalenetui mit TFOA-Pass.
