Santa Cruz OM Grand Figured Indian Rosewood Carpathian Spruce TFOA 20th Anniversary 2021

De OM Grand is eigenlijk een grotere en luidere versie van het populaire Santa Cruz OM-model. Het idee voor de OM Grand kwam voort uit de geest van winkeleigenaar Harry Tuft, die Richard Hoover vroeg een op maat gemaakt instrument voor hem te bouwen om het 50-jarig jubileum van zijn winkel te vieren. Het idee was gebaseerd op het historische 0000-model, en bij het voorbereiden van de sjablonen voor deze nieuwe lichaamsgrootte zag Richard deze OM als een mooie aanvulling op de geweldige reeks SCGC-standaardmodellen, en het concept van de OM Grand was geboren.

Ter ere van ons 20-jarig jubileum in 2021 vroegen we Santa Cruz om deze geweldige OM te bouwen, en we kozen voor een spectaculair stuk Indisch palissander voor de achterkant en zijkanten en een Karpatisch sparren bovenblad met S29 purfling en ivoroid binding. De gitaar is voorzien van een scalloped bracing om het bovenblad meer flexibiliteit te geven met een verhoogde basrespons tot gevolg. De kracht van de OM Grand beperkt zich niet tot puur volume. In de soms ingetogen aanwezigheid van solo-vingerstijlspel zal de inherente kracht van deze gitaar een krachtige bloei genereren, waardoor minder inspanning nodig is zonder verlies van nuance. 

Deze Santa Cruz OM Grand uit 2021 heeft slechts lichte speelsporen op de slagplaat, klankkast en achterzijde van de hals, maar is verder zeer schoon. De gitaar verkeert nog nagenoeg in nieuwstaat en wordt met TFOA paspoort geleverd in een koffer van Ameritage.

The OM Grand is basically a bigger and louder version of the popular Santa Cruz OM model. The idea for the OM Grand came from the mind of store owner Harry Tuft, who asked Richard Hoover to build him a custom instrument to celebrate his store's 50th anniversary. The idea was based on the historic 0000 model, and when preparing the templates for this new body size, Richard saw this OM as a nice addition to the great range of SCGC standard models, and the concept of the OM Grand was born.


In honor of our 20th anniversary in 2021, we asked Santa Cruz to build this amazing OM and we chose a spectacular piece of Indian rosewood for the back and sides and a Carpathian spruce top with S29 purfling and ivoroid binding. The guitar features scalloped bracing to give the top more flexibility, resulting in an increased bass response. The power of the OM Grand is not limited to pure volume. In the sometimes subdued presence of solo fingerstyle playing, this guitar's inherent power will generate a powerful flourish, requiring less effort without losing nuance.


This 2021 Santa Cruz OM Grand only has minor playwear on the pickguard, back and sides and back of the neck, but is otherwise very clean. The guitar is still in near mint condition and comes with a TFOA passport in an Ameritage hardshell case.

Der OM Grand ist im Grunde eine größere und lautere Version des beliebten Santa Cruz OM-Modells. Die Idee für das OM Grand kam dem Ladenbesitzer Harry Tuft, der Richard Hoover bat, ihm ein maßgeschneidertes Instrument zu bauen, um das 50-jährige Jubiläum seines Ladens zu feiern. Die Idee basierte auf dem historischen Modell 0000, und als Richard die Vorlagen für diese neue Körpergröße vorbereitete, sah er in diesem OM eine schöne Ergänzung zur großen Auswahl an SCGC-Standardmodellen, und das Konzept des OM Grand war geboren.


Zu Ehren unseres 20-jährigen Jubiläums im Jahr 2021 haben wir Santa Cruz gebeten, dieses erstaunliche OM zu bauen, und wir haben ein spektakuläres Stück indischen Palisander für Boden und Zargen sowie eine Decke aus Karpatenfichte mit S29-Einlage und Ivoroid-Bindung ausgewählt. Die Gitarre verfügt über eine gewellte Verstrebung, um der Decke mehr Flexibilität zu verleihen, was zu einer besseren Basswiedergabe führt. Die Kraft des OM Grand beschränkt sich nicht nur auf die reine Lautstärke. In der manchmal gedämpften Präsenz des Solo-Fingerstyle-Spiels erzeugt die inhärente Kraft dieser Gitarre einen kraftvollen Schwung, der weniger Aufwand erfordert, ohne an Nuancen zu verlieren.


Dieser 2021 Santa Cruz OM Grand weist nur geringfügige Spielspuren am Schlagbrett, an der Rückseite, an den Seiten und am Nacken auf, ist aber ansonsten sehr sauber. Die Gitarre ist noch in einem nahezu neuwertigen Zustand und wird mit einem TFOA-Pass in einem Ameritage-Hartschalenkoffer geliefert.
