Je krijgt namelijk beschikking over een MM-style humbucker in de brugpositie en een J-style single-coil in het midden. Om de klank verder naar eigen smaak aan te passen kun je gebruik maken van de actieve 2-band EQ (bass en treble boost) en de Vintage Tone Control. Het resultaat is breed inzetbaar instrument met toch een geheel eigen karakter.
Naast de indrukwekkende klankmogelijkheden maakt ook het speelcomfort van de Sadowsky M/J Bass gelijk indruk. Dit begint bij de J-style body.
