NAMM 2023 Highlights

The Fellowship of Acoustics loves to visit the largest music trade show in the world: NAMM 2023. We were there to look at, buy and talk about guitars and gear. And we were blown away by a great surprise!

NAMM 2023: So much to see

The NAMM Show is All American and that means it is larger than life and simply overwhelming. Because in addition to just about all the great luthiers in the world, you will also find other instrument makers: from keyboards to brass and from drum kits to DJ sets: it's all there in one huge Convention Centre. This is not the first time we visit NAMM, so by now we know our way reasonably well and that is why we first visited Klein Guitars:

and Isaac Jang Guitars:

Both luthiers are part of the Boutique Guitar Showcase, which offers a wonderful display of small, innovative instruments put together by our good friend Jamie Gale. Later this year the show will go on a world tour so we hope to see Jamie Gale in our guitar villa in Dedemsvaart soon. The sneak preview we saw in Anaheim promises good things.

Lowden

and we hope to tell you more about the results of that visit very soon. We need to work out some details, but it is looking good!

Hozen

enchanted us in with an awesome inlay!

Iris

that we had to come back a few times before we finally got to...

Bij Maybach we saw the Baron, a model with which they might conquer the world.

And we also stumbled upon Two Rock, Ernie Ball, Mule, Dunlop, Honey Tea and  loads and loads more. Please take a look at our Instagram for all the beautiful photos made by Fellow Maarten.

NAMM 2023: So much to buy

Fellow Coen has been a long-time fan of Ryan Guitars and this year Kevin is taking it a step further with 'The Tempest'. We simply couldn't resist and bought it on the spot.

At the Martin Guitar Custom Shop the always friendly Dan helped us put together a 00 12-fret model, 45 style with a great set of Guatemalan Rosewood.

Fortunately, as a Custom Shop Expert Dealer, we get some priority in production and delivery, so we hope to receive it later this year.

At Wild Custom Guitars they know what's 'Cool' and yet we were welcomed in the warmest ways imaginable. Great guitars at a surprising price point, so we definitely look forward to see and hear more from them.

NAMM 2023: So much to talk about

During NAMM you run into a lot of other guitar geeks, like our good friend Jan Stovicek, the man behind the wonderful BSG Guitars.

He wasn't there only to socialize, because he said he had managed to get his hands on a great batch of Koa. We cannot wait to see what is he is going to create using that wonderful tonewood. Of course the omnipresent Paul Davids was there and we had a very nice lunch with a supersized sandwich with That Pedal Show.

De mannen van PLEK waren er natuurlijk ook met hun superieure techniek voor het afstellen van gitaren. Jonker Guitarsthe Music Alliance and all of the other fine folks we forget to mention here.

NAMM 2023: Surprise!

On the very first day we visited our friends from Eastman for their amazing instruments and the always endearing Qian Ni. He took us by surprise when we heard we are the Number One Worldwide Eastman Dealer. Between all the noise at this huge show it made us very quiet, and modestly proud, for a moment.
